Subagent

A separate helper that works for Claude, with its own working memory. It gets a task, does it off to the side and returns only the conclusion, like a colleague sent to the archive.

You’ll also find it as: subagents

How it appears in the course

A subagent is a “helper Claude”, which the main Claude sends off to do a particular job.
Introduction · Module 06, Subagents: separate helpers
The main Claude delegates a task to the subagent (that is, hands it over to be done). The subagent works on its own “workbench” and sends back only the final result.
What is a subagent? · Module 06, Subagents: separate helpers
You save context. Searching through 200 files happens in the subagent’s context. All that reaches you is a short conclusion.
