Markdown
A simple way of writing formatted text: “#” makes a heading, “-” makes a list. The .md files, like CLAUDE.md, are Markdown.
How it appears in the course
CLAUDE.md is an ordinary text file, in Markdown format (plain text with a few marks for headings and lists; hence .md).
You can also make your own styles. They’re simple text files (markdown, with the .md extension) put in the ~/.claude/output-styles/ folder (for all your projects) or .claude/output-styles/ (only for the current project).
