Dev server
A small server started on your computer, so you can see the website in the browser while you work on it (usually at localhost).
How it appears in the course
Background tasks. Some commands take a long time, e.g. starting the development server (dev server) or building the program. Claude can let them run “in the background”, it can work on something else in the meantime and read the result when it’s ready.
