How do you see the app in the built-in browser?
Installation and your first project · lesson 8 of 12
A browser is the program you open web pages in, like Chrome or Safari. The ChatGPT app has its own built-in browser. It shows you the page right next to the chat, without switching windows.
How to open the page:
- if Codex gives you a link to the page in the chat, click it;
- or open a new tab with
⌘T(Mac) /Ctrl+T(Windows) and type the page’s address.
The address of a file on your computer is called a path.
It looks something like this: /Users/ana/Documents/subscriptions/index.html.
If you don’t know it, ask:
Give me the full address of the page, so I can open it in the built-in browser.
What to check:
- the 5 subscriptions are there;
- the monthly total is right (add up the prices yourself once);
- the text is in English.
Want the page and the chat side by side?
Choose Enter split view.
If the page won’t open in the built-in browser, don’t worry.
Double-click index.html in Finder or File Explorer.
It opens in your usual browser and looks the same.
