How do you install the app on a Mac?

You need a Mac and an internet connection.
- In your browser, open the official page: chatgpt.com/download.
- Choose the macOS version and download it.
- Open the downloaded file, from your
Downloadsfolder. - Follow the steps on screen. Usually you drag the ChatGPT icon into the
Applicationsfolder. - Start ChatGPT from
Applicationsor from Launchpad, the screen with all your apps.
macOS is the Mac’s operating system, the core program that runs the computer.
Already have the ChatGPT app on your Mac? Don’t reinstall it, just update it: Codex is in the new version. Same if you had the old Codex app: you update it as usual.
The golden rule: download only from OpenAI’s website. There are “modified” or “free Plus” copies going around online. Some of them steal accounts.
