The course project is called “Subscriptions under control”. It’s a small web app, just for you. A web app is a page that opens in a browser but does things, like a program.
It keeps track of payments that repeat: Netflix, Spotify, your phone, the gym, insurance, a website domain. It shows you:
- how much you pay per month and per year, in your currency;
- what renews in the next 7 days;
- how much each category costs you.
Along the way you add:
- import from a CSV file (a simple table, like an Excel export);
- reminders you can put in your calendar;
- a weekly report, written automatically by Codex.
The app runs on your computer. The data stays in the browser, not on a server (someone else’s computer, on the internet). You don’t use real bank data: you type in your subscriptions or start from examples.
Every module makes it a little better. By the end you have a tool you actually use.
