  1. Install Claude Code and run claude doctor.
  2. Open any of your projects (or any folder with files) and ask Claude to explain how it’s organized.
  3. Press Shift+Tab a few times. Watch how the mode changes, shown at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Type /context and then /cost. Get into the habit of checking how much you’re using.
